Liberation Night. Cambridge celebrates the 400th anniversary of overthrowing their tyrant. An informal affair with the Court of the Night present to entertain those with interesting tastes. Kindred, I'm very glad to be the first to invite you all to 2008's Liberation Night celebrations. Liberation Night is one of the most important civic festivals in Cambridge, commemorating the fateful night in 1608 when the citizens of Cambridge, led by the Three Liberators, rose up against their mad tyrant of a prince. Coups against princes are not uncommon, but in the case of Cambridge, the prince was replaced not by another prince but by a three-member Council, a form of government which has endured to this day. Every 50 years, the Council and Citizens of Cambridge invite Kindred of all clans and covenants to join us in commemorating the heroic deeds of the Liberators and celebrating freedom in all its many forms. This year's festivities will be held on the 4th of October at Buckden Palace near Buckden in Cambridgeshire. Events will include a party hosted by the Court of the Night as well as services of thanksgiving and other events commemorating the overthrow of the tyrant and the foundation of the Council. People planning to visit from too far out of town: please contact me and I'll arrange accomodation for you. Peace, -- Dear blood-drinkers; In defiance of this tradition - for blind obedience has never been the true path of the Night - it is my duty to extend to you all Her Imperial Majesty's warmed possible invitation to the greatest gathering of your kind that the world has ever seen: THE COURT OF THE NIGHTAn informal court will be hosted by Her Imperial Majesty in the domain of Cambridge on the 4th of October 2008. Distractions will be provided and petitions received; fancy dress is option but in no way discouraged. Thank you for your attention. Emily Cavendish |
